“Pol.Gen. Adul” Promotes Safe Travels During Songkran for Thai and Migrant Workers

           The Labour Minister commenced the project “Happy Songkran, Happy workers” 2019, sending Thai and foreign workers home safely to join the Songkran traditions.   Download Images                        On April 3, 2019, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo presided over the opening ceremony of the “Happy Songkran, Happy Workers” project at Sahaphat Group Industrial Estate, Sriracha, Chonburi. He said that at present, Thailand has 38.3 million workers, with over 11.5 million workers in the system, and 3.2 million migrant workers from neighbouring countries. This group of migrant workers has a similar culture and tradition to Thai people, especially the Songkran tradition. Therefore, on the Songkran Festival in 2019, the government has announced that April 12, 2019, is an extra public holiday, for a continuous holiday duration between April 12-16, 2019, totaling five days            Pol.Gen. Ministry of Labor cooperates in all sectors to send labor back home safely during Songkran

          Today (April 2, 2018) H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor chaired “The meeting to prepare laborers to return home safely during the Songkran Festival” at the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labor.   Preview Download Images          Today, it is a meeting to urge employers and entrepreneurs to arrange a good leave for employees to return home during Songkran Festival easily and safely. The resolution of the Cabinet on March 27, 2018, to allow the return to the country of origin to participate in the Songkran festival. And back in Thailand from 5 to 30 April 2018, it must follow the guidelines that the Department of Employment.           General Adul added that the employer urged employees to prepare for insurance before the trip and carry ID card to be able to use social security in case of emergency without having to pay. MOL Promotes Valuable Work for Migrant Workers in SEA

            The Ministry of Labour discussed parallel activities on decent work, inclusiveness and equality for migrant workers in South East Asia. MOL Develops Labour Graduates’ Potentials to Drive All Missions

            The Ministry of Labour organized a workshop to develop the potential of labour graduates, to exchange learning experiences and to utilize knowledge gained about self-development and various skills to adapt to work and life for the benefit to themselves, colleagues, organizations and localities. MOL Signs MOC With Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to Enhance Protection of Thai Workers

            Today (March 27, 2019), Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo and Japanese Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Mrs. Emiko Takagai, witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation on the Technical Training Program between Director of the Department of Employment Mrs. Petcharat Sinauy and Director of the Department of Human Resources Mr. Yoshimoto Akiko. The occasion took place at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Tokyo, Japan, whereby the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs had signed this MOC before already. MOL Commences Seminar on “Labour Market Policies and Employment: The Future of Work in an Aging Society Context”

          On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Pol.Maj. Romayong Surakitbunharn chaired the seminar on labour research networks for 2019. The topic was “Labour Market Policies and Employment: The Future of Work in an Aging Society Context”, which took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour.   Download Images             The seminar was organized to present a policy framework to address challenges that are caused by changes beyond expectations for the world of work. It covered how to build competitiveness and network of policymakers and workers in employment and labour policies, and facilitated the exchange of good practices on planning, development and implementation of policies on the future of jobs and characteristics both globally and in Thailand. Labour Inspectors Visit Prachinburi to Inspect Performance in Support of a Herbal City

             On March 26, 2019, Deputy Director of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare and acting Inspector-General for the Ministry of Labour, Mr.Todsaphon kritwongwiman visited Prachinburi to monitor the performance of agencies following the official examination for 2019, for the first round. Inspections were performed together with Inspector-General of the Prime Minister’s Office District 9 (Mr. Jirayu Nantaratorn) and inspector-generals from other ministries, who joined discussions with the Governor of Prachinburi Province at the provincial governors’ office.              The Inspector-Generals met with provincial heads of government agencies involved in solving the problems and guidelines for the development of the Herbal City, at the Anchan Meeting Room, 5th floor, Chao Phraya Aphaiphubet Hospital. Labour Minister Visits Thai Trainees under IM Japan Project in Japan to Share Words of Wisdom

           Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo and committee visited Thai trainees in the IM Japan project at the Japan Training Center. He asked the Thai workers to practice intensive discipline, be determined to work, have discipline with sacrifices and plans to become a manager in the future.            On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 10.00 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Pol.Maj. Romayong Surakitbunharnchaired the Skill Development Promotion Committee meeting 3/2019 at the Pakorn Angsusingh Conference Room, 10th Floor, Department of Skill Development. Labour Minister Adul Visits Home Workers in San Kamphaeng Emphasizing Career Continuation and Social Security for a Better Quality of Life

             Today (March 11, 2019), Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo together with Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark; Director of the Department of Employment, Mrs. Petcharat Sinauy;and the ministry’s executives, visited Chiang Mai to commence a project on workforce preparation with vocational guidance for workers who are not in the employment system, and launched activities to promote work at home, organized by the Chiang Mai Office of Employment. The committee also visited informal and home worker groups at the Natrada Cotton Group, Moo 3, San Kamphaeng San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai Provincial Governor, Mr. Supachai Iamsuwan welcomed 50 participants comprising home workers and people who passed professional training for a career and income. The training provided knowledge about benefits of insurers under Section 40, rights and responsibilities of informal workers and the Protection of Home Workers Act B.E. 2553, development and promotion of work to do at home, group gatherings, group renewals/person receiving work at home and borrowing funds for homeworkers.
