MOL Inspector-Generals Join Anti-Drug Workforce Competition No. 7/2019

          On August 18, 2019, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Todsaphon kritwongwiman chaired the opening ceremony of the Anti-Drug Workforce Competition no 7/2019. The competition is organized by the Automobile Labour Congress of Thailand, consisting of 94 unions with 73,000 members of the workforce, most of which are in Chonburi, Rayong, Chachoengsao, Prachinburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals participated in the football match at Ban Kao Stadium, Phan Thong, Chonburi. MOL Prepares to Send 25 Youths to WorldSkills in Russia on August 22-27

               The Labour Minister gave a press conference on the delivery of Thai youths to participate in the 45th WorldSkills Kazan 2019, which will be held between August 22 to 27 in Kazan, Russia. Thailand sent 25 young people to compete in 23 branches, in 5 professional groups. MOL Employee Welfare Fund Committee Meets No. 7/2019

            On July 22, 2019, at 09.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Viwat Jiraphanvanich chaired the meeting of the Employee Welfare Fund Committee No. 7/2019. The meeting considered the amendment of the regulations concerning the receipt, payment and keeping of money of the Employee Welfare Fund, 1999, and the committee regulations on the remittance of money for keeping in the Employee Welfare Fund, B.E 2542 (1999). The meeting also considered sale of bad debts of the Employee Welfare Fund, payment of welfare to employees in cases other than compensation and selecting among the representatives of employers and employee representatives to appoint as an associate judge in the labour court/ The meeting took place at the Mitmaitree Meeting Room 2, 5th floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour. MOL Joins MOU with 7 Agencies to Form Measures and Guidelines on Detaining Children in Immigration Dentation Centers Before Return

             On January 21, 2019, at 10.00 hours, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prawit Wongsuwan presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the formation of measures and guidelines for detaining children in immigration detention centers to await return to origin countries. The meeting took place at the Santimaitree Building (outer building), Government House. The MOU signing ceremony was a collaboration between 7 government agencies, namely the Royal Thai Police Office, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour. The objective of the MOU is to determine the duties, responsibilities and guidelines for all relevant agencies to systematically and efficiently care for and not detain children in immigration detention rooms. On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prawit Wongsuwan and Advisor to the Labour Minister Police General Suwat Chanttikun were witnesses, together with representatives from various government agencies. MOL Meets to Review Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s Strategies for 2017-21

            The Permanent Secretary Labour concluded the workshop to review the strategic plan of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour for 2017-2021. The workshop also created awareness among agencies of plans to be implemented in accordance with the national strategy and 12th Economic Development Plan to achieve effective results.

              The Labour Minister visited Chonburi to follow up on the progress of the Eastern Economic Corridor Labour Administration Center which will provide employment services, workforce development, labour protection and social security benefits to support the special economic zone and the growth of industries in the EEC area. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo visited Chonburi and chaired the meeting to follow up the progress of the establishment of the EEC Labour Administration Center after the place was renovated, such as painting and changing the building nameplate. The meeting took place at the Chonburi Skill Development Institute 3, located at No. 145, Nong Mai Daeng, Mueang, Chonburi.
