วันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2566 นายสิรภพ ดวงสอดศรี ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงแรงงาน กล่าวภายหลัง วางพวงหรีดแสดงความอาลัย แรงงานไทยที่เสียชีวิตจากสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบในอิสราเอล ณ อาคารสำนักงานเขตปลอดอากร ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ ว่า
” วันนี้ ท่านพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ได้มอบหมายให้ ผม… นายสิรภพ ดวงสอดศรี ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงแรงงาน นายธนัสถ์ ทวีเกื้อกูลกิจ ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน และนายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน เป็นผู้แทนของกระทรวงแรงงานในการรับร่างแรงงานไทยชุดแรกที่เสียชีวิตในอิสราเอล จำนวน 8 ราย ในวันนี้ พร้อมร่วมวางพวงหรีดแสดงความอาลัย โดยมีนายจักรพงษ์ แสงมณี รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และนางออร์นา ซากิฟ เอกอัครราชทูตรัฐอิสราเอลประจำประเทศไทย ร่วมพิธี
ผมขอแสดงความเสียใจอย่างยิ่งต่อญาติพี่น้องและครอบครัวของพี่น้องแรงงานไทยทั้ง 8 ราย มา ณ ที่นี้ และขอให้คำมั่น กับญาติของพี่น้องแรงงานไทยว่าเราจะดูแลสิทธิประโยชน์ของทุกท่านให้ได้รับสิทธิประโยชน์ โดยทายาทของแรงงานไทยที่เสียชีวิต จะได้รับสิทธิประโยชน์จากการเป็นสมาชิกกองทุนเพื่อช่วยเหลือคนหางานไปทำงานในต่างประเทศ กรณีเสียชีวิตในต่างประเทศ จำนวน 40,000 บาท และมีสิทธิได้รับสิทธิประโยชน์ตามกฎหมายของอิสราเอล โดยภรรยาตามกฎหมาย จะได้รับเงินช่วยเหลือทุกเดือน ประมาณ 50,000 บาท และบุตรของผู้เสียชีวิตทุกคน ได้รับเงินช่วยเหลือประมาณ 8,000 – 16,000 บาท (ตามค่าเงินขณะนั้น) ขึ้นกับอายุและความพึ่งพา ซึ่งจะได้รับทุกเดือนจนกว่าภรรยาจะแต่งงานใหม่หรือลูกมีอายุครบ 18 ปี “นายสิรภพ กล่าว
โดยหน่วยงานที่อยู่ในจังหวัดภูมิลำเนาของแรงงานไทยได้ประสานครอบครัวผู้เสียชีวิต แล้วเพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกร่วมกับกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อรับร่างแรงงานทุกรายกลับไปประกอบพิธีทางศาสนาที่ภูมิลำเนาในจังหวัดอุดรธานี ศรีสะเกษ นครราชสีมา ขอนแก่น ชัยภูมิ และสุโขทัย
On October 20, 2023, the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, gave a speech after laying a wreath to express condolences to Thai workers who died due to the unrest in Israel. The occasion took place at the free zone office building in Suvarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan Province.
“Today, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has assigned me, the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, and the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Phairoj Chotikasatian to represent the Ministry of Labour in receiving the bodies of the first group of Thai workers who died in Israel, totaling eight people. Together, we join in laying wreaths to express our condolences. The ceremony is also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, and Ambassador of Israel to Thailand, Mrs. Orna Sagiv.”
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the relatives and families of the 8 Thai workers. I hereby pledge that we will take care of everyone’s entitlements so that the families of the deceased receive the entitled benefits from the fund helping job seekers working abroad. In the case of death abroad, the amount is 40,000 Baht. The families are also entitled to receive benefits according to Israeli law. The legal wife will receive monthly financial assistance of approximately 50,000 Baht, and all children of the deceased will receive assistance of approximately 8,000 – 16,000 Baht (following the currency at that time), depending on age and dependency. The assistance will be paid monthly until the wife remarries or the child turns 18,” said Mr. Siraphop.
The agency in the Thai worker’s home province has coordinated with the deceased’s family. It will work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to transport all bodies to perform religious ceremonies at their hometowns in Udon Thani, Sisaket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum and Sukhothai provinces.
