วันที่ 21 ตุลาคม 2566 นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน เปิดเผยถึงความคืบหน้าภายหลังจากที่เมื่อวานนี้ (20 ต.ค.66) ร่างของแรงงานไทยที่เสียชีวิตจากสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบในอิสราเอล ทั้ง 8 ราย ที่สถานทูตฯ ส่งมาชุดแรกได้เคลื่อนย้ายศพกลับไปให้ครอบครัวเพื่อประกอบพิธีทางศาสนายังภูมิลำเนาแล้วนั้น ซึ่งในส่วนของกระทรวงแรงงาน ผมได้รับรายงานจากปลัดกระทรวงแรงงานว่า มีหน่วยงานในสังกัดกระทรวงแรงงานจังหวัด อุดรธานี ศรีสะเกษ นครราชสีมา ขอนแก่น ชัยภูมิ และสุโขทัย ซึ่งเป็นจังหวัดพื้นที่ภูมิลำเนาของแรงงานที่เสียชีวิตได้เดินทางลงพื้นที่นำพวงหรีดไปมอบเพื่อแสดงความอาลัยกับครอบครัวผู้เสียชีวิตพร้อมร่วมพิธีบำเพ็ญกุศลศพแล้ว
ด้าน นายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน กล่าวว่า ผมได้รับรายงานจากแรงงานจังหวัดอุดรธานี ศรีสะเกษ นครราชสีมา ขอนแก่น ชัยภูมิ และสุโขทัย ว่า ทันทีที่ได้มีการเคลื่อนย้ายร่างของแรงงานที่เสียชีวิตจากความไม่สงบในอิสราเอลไปถึงภูมิลำเนา หน่วยงานในสังกัดกระทรวงแรงงาน ได้นำพวงรีดของท่านพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน และของปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน ไปร่วมแสดงความอาลัย กับหน่วยงานราชการต่าง ๆ ในพื้นที่ อาทิ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัด กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ กระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น และอีกหลายหน่วยงานต่างร่วมส่งพวงหรีดแสดงความเสียใจ พร้อมกับร่วมประกอบพิธีสวดพระอภิธรรมศพด้วย
สำหรับความคืบหน้าสถานการณ์การให้ความช่วยเหลือพี่น้องแรงงานไทยในประเทศอิสราเอล ซึ่งจากรายงานของฝ่ายแรงงานประจำสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเทลอาวีฟ พบว่า ล่าสุดมีแรงงานไทยได้ลงทะเบียนกรอกแบบฟอร์มแจ้งความประสงค์เดินทางกลับประเทศไทยกับทางสถานทูตฯ แล้ว 8,439 คน ไม่ประสงค์กลับ 118 คน ถูกจับไปเป็นตัวประกัน 19 ราย บาดเจ็บ 16 ราย ยังไม่สามารถระบุชื่อได้ 1 ราย เสียชีวิต 31 ราย นำศพกลับไทยแล้ว 8 ราย โดยขณะนี้มีแรงงานไทยที่เดินทางกลับมาแล้ว เป็นจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 2,319 คน
On October 21, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, spoke about the progress after yesterday (October 20, 2023), where the bodies of all eight Thai workers who died from the unrest in Israel were sent back by the Embassy for the families to perform religious ceremonies in their hometown. He said that he received a report from the Permanent Secretary of Labour that agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Udon Thani, Sisaket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum and Sukhothai provinces, which are the hometowns of the deceased workers, have given wreaths to express their condolences to the families of the deceased and have joined in the funeral ceremonies.
The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Phairoj Chotikasatian, said he received reports from workers in Udon Thani, Sisaket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum and Sukhothai provinces that as soon as the bodies of workers who died from the unrest in Israel were moved to their hometowns, agencies under the Ministry of Labour brought wreaths by the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and the Permanent Secretary of Labour to express their condolences. Various government agencies in the areas joined the ceremony, including provincial governors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, local government organizations, and many other agencies, and sent wreaths to express their condolences, along with participating in the funeral prayer ceremony.
According to the recent report of the Labour Department at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, 8,439 Thai workers have filled out a travel request form with the Embassy requesting to return to Thailand. At the same time, 118 people have notified their intention not to return. Nineteen Thai workers were taken hostage, 16 were injured, one unnamed, and 31 were dead, whereby eight bodies have been transported to Thailand. Currently, a total of 2,319 Thai workers have returned to Thailand.
