วันที่ 4 มีนาคม 2566 นายสุชาติ ชมกลิ่น รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน มอบหมายให้ นายบุญชอบ สุทธมนัสวงษ์ ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน นางสาวอาจารีย์ ศรีรัตนบัลล์ เอกอัครราชทูตณกรุงแคนเบอร์รา นางเธียรรัตน์ นะวะมะวัฒน์ โฆษกกระทรวงแรงงาน (ฝ่ายการเมือง) และผู้บริหารระดับสูงกระทรวงแรงงาน เยี่ยมพบปะผู้ประกอบการและเยี่ยมชมโรงงาน Tangola Factory ประเภทกิจการอาหารไทยเพื่อขยายตลาดแรงงานไทย โดยมี คุณร็อบ เฟรเซอร์ (Mr.Rob Fraser) ประธานกรรมการบริษัทฯ คุณอัตถสิทธิ์ ลิ้มสกุล ผู้จัดการบริษัท สิงห์ ออส ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ ณ บริษัท Tangola Factory นครเมลเบิร์น ประเทศออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งเป็นสถานประกอบกิจการประเภทค้าปลีกสินค้าไทยในประเทศออสเตรเลีย ปัจจุบันบริษัทมีโรงงานตั้งอยู่ 3 สาขา ได้แก่ เมลเบิร์น ซิดนีย์ และบริสเบน
นายบุญชอบ กล่าวว่า ในวันนี้ท่านสุชาติ ชมกลิ่น รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ได้มอบหมายให้ผมพร้อมด้วยท่าน เอกอัครราชทูตและ ผู้บริหารระดับสูงกระทรวงแรงงาน มาพบปะผู้ประกอบการและเยี่ยมชมโรงงานที่มีการจ้างแรงงานไทยในออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งจากการพูดคุยและแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลระหว่างกันกับท่านประธานกรรมการบริษัท ท่านได้ชื่นชมแรงงานไทยว่าเป็นแรงงานที่มีระเบียบวินัย ขยันทำงาน และซื่อสัตย์ และปัจจุบันบริษัทแห่งนี้ได้จ้างแรงงานไทย 70 คน คิดเป็นสัดส่วนถึง 95 เปอร์เซ็นต์ของจำนวนแรงงานต่างชาติที่บริษัทจ้างทั้งหมด การจ้างงานส่วนใหญ่ฟูลไทม์ 80 เปอร์เซ็นต์ และอีก 20 เปอร์เซ็นต์เป็นพาร์ทไทม์ แรงงานมีรายได้ เฉลี่ยอยู่ที่ 22 เหรียญ ต่อชั่วโมง บวกกับเงินเกษียณอีก 20 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ส่วนทักษะที่นายจ้างต้องการ คือ ทักษะด้านภาษา โดยเฉพาะตำแหน่งที่ทำงานในออฟฟิศ ยกเว้นตำแหน่งอื่นๆ ไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ทักษะภาษา เนื่องจากส่วนใหญ่ติดต่อกับร้านไทยในออสเตรเลียด้วยกัน
“ต้องยอมรับว่าแรงงานไทยเป็นที่ต้องการของนายจ้างในออสเตรเลียและหลายๆ ประเทศ โดยเฉพาะภาคอุตสาหกรรมและบริการ เนื่องจากแรงงานไทยมีทักษะฝีมือมีความเชี่ยวชาญในสาขาต่าง ๆ จึงถือเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่การหารือในครั้งนี้จะช่วยให้คนไทยได้มาทำงานในออสเตรเลียมากขึ้น ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับนโยบายรัฐบาล โดยท่าน พล.อ.ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี ที่มีนโยบายส่งเสริมให้คนไทยได้มาทำงานในต่างประเทศมากขึ้น เพื่อสร้างฐานะให้ตนเองและครอบครัว มีรายได้ที่มั่นคง นำความรู้กลับไปพัฒนาประเทศอีกทางหนึ่งด้วย” นายบุญชอบ กล่าวท้ายสุด

On March 4, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, Ambassador of Thailand in Canberra, Ms. Ajaree Srirattanaban, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on Politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, visited Tangola Factory, a Thai food business, to expand the Thai labour market. The Managing Director, Mr. Rob Fraser, and Manager of Singh Aus, Mr. Atthasit Limsakul, gave a welcome at Tangola Factory in Melbourne, Australia. The company distributes Thai products in Australia and currently has three factories in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
Mr. Boonchob said that today, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned him, the Ambassador, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives to meet with business operators and visit the factory employing Thai workers in Australia. The company’s Managing Director commended the Thai workers for their discipline, diligence, and honesty. This company employs 70 Thai workers, accounting for 95 percent of the foreign workers. Most employment is full-time, at 80 percent, and 20 percent is part-time workers. The average wage is $22 per hour, plus 20 percent of retirement funds. The skills that employers require are language skills, especially the positions that work in the office. No language skills are required for other positions as most of them will connect with Thai shops in Australia.
“It must be acknowledged that Thai workers are in demand by employers in Australia and many other countries, especially in the industrial and service sectors. Thai workers are skilled in various fields. Today’s discussion is a good opportunity to help more Thais come to work in Australia. This is in line with the government’s policy by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who has the policy to encourage more Thai people to work abroad, to build a position for themselves and their families to have a stable income and bring knowledge back to develop the country” concluded Mr. Boonchob.
