วันที่ 13 ธันวาคม 2566 เวลา 17.00 น. ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นของประเทศซาอุดีอาระเบีย ซึ่งช้ากว่าประเทศไทย 4 ชั่วโมง นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน พร้อมด้วย นายไพโรจน์ โชติกเสถียร ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน นางสาวบุปผา เรืองสุด อธิบดีกรมพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงาน และ นายสมชาย มรกตศรีวรรณ ผู้ตรวจราชการกระทรวงแรงงาน รักษาราชการแทน อธิบดีกรมการจัดหางาน เข้าร่วมเป็นเกียรติในพิธีเปิดงานแสดงสินค้า Thailand Mega Fair 2023 โดยมี นายปานปรีย์ พหิทธานุกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เป็นประธานเปิดงาน ณ The Arena Riyadh ราชอาณาจักรซาอุดีอาระเบีย
โดย นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ได้ร่วมสนทนากับผู้แทนสภาหอการค้าริยาด เกี่ยวกับสถานะการฟื้นฟูความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองประเทศในด้านการค้าและการลงทุน รวมถึงความต้องการแรงงานไทยเพื่อรองรับโครงการพัฒนาเมืองและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของซาอุดีอาระเบีย ซึ่งซาอุดีอาระเบียคาดหวังที่จะได้เรียนรู้จากประเทศไทยในฐานะผู้นำในด้านการท่องเที่ยว รวมทั้งเยี่ยมชม และพบปะหารือกับนักธุรกิจ ผู้ประกอบการไทยที่มาร่วมจัดแสดงในครั้งนี้ รวมถึงบูธของกระทรวงแรงงานที่ได้จัดแสดงเกี่ยวกับข้อมูลสถิติจำนวน อาชีพ และรายได้ของแรงงานไทยที่ทำงานอยู่ในประเทศต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลกด้วย สำหรับงานแสดงสินค้า Thailand Mega Fair 2023 จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 13-16 ธันวาคม 2566 เวลา 16.00 – 23.00 น. โดยสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย เป็นงานแสดงสินค้านวัตกรรมและบริการของประเทศไทยที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในซาอุดีอาระเบีย ซึ่งมีกำลังซื้อสูงที่สุดในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลาง จัดขึ้นภายใต้แนวคิด “Discover Thailand : The Perfect Destanation for Empowering your Business Growth” หรือ ค้นพบประเทศไทย : จุดหมายปลายทางที่สมบูรณ์แบบสำหรับการเสริมศักยภาพการเติบโตของธุรกิจของคุณ โดยงานแสดงสินค้าฯ มีผู้จัดแสดงสินค้าและบริการกว่า 200 ราย จาก 7 ภาคธุรกิจหลัก ได้แก่ ภาคการก่อสร้าง อาหารและเครื่องดื่ม การท่องเที่ยวและบริการ ไลฟ์สไตล์ บริการสุขภาพ พลังงานและหุ่นยนต์ และภาคการเกษตร โดยมีแบรนด์สินค้าจากประเทศไทยเข้าร่วมกว่า 100 บริษัท
โอกาสนี้ สำนักงานแรงงานในประเทศซาอุดีอาระเบียได้ร่วมออกบูธให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับการจ้างแรงงานในซาอุดีอาระเบีย ซึ่งมีความต้องการจ้างแรงงานตำแหน่งพนักงานทำความสะอาดเพศหญิง พยาบาลและผู้ช่วยพยาบาล ผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยและคนชรา ช่างฝีมือ โดยปัจุจบันซาอุดีฯ อยู่ระหว่างการก่อสร้างโครงการขนาดใหญ่หลายโครงการ ทั้งโครงการสร้างสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแห่งใหม่ สวนสาธารณะ สวนสนุก ห้างสรรพสินค้า รวมถึงที่พักอาศัย ซึ่งมีความจำเป็นต้องใช้ช่างฝีมือจำนวนมาก นอกจากนี้ ยังมีกลุ่มธุรกิจจากประเทศไทยที่จะเข้ามาลงทุนเพื่อการค้าและเสนอโครงการพัฒนาหลายรายเช่นกัน โดยสาขาที่มีโอกาส เช่น วิศวกร สถาปนิก ช่างไฟฟ้า ช่างเชื่อม รวมถึงช่างซ่อมต่างๆ ด้วย
On December 13, 2023, at 17.00 hours local time in Saudi Arabia, which is 4 hours behind Thailand, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Phairoj Chotikasatian, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Ministry of Labour’sInspector-General and Acting Director-General of the Department of Employment, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, participated in the honor of the opening ceremony of the Thailand Mega Fair 2023 exhibition. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Panpree Phitthanukorn, presided over the opening ceremony at The Arena Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, joined in conversations with representatives of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce on the status of restoring relations between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment. They also spoke about the need for Thai workers to support Saudi Arabia’s urban and infrastructure development projects. Saudi Arabia expects to learn from Thailand, which is a leader in tourism. He also met and spoke with Thai business entrepreneurs who came to the exhibit. The Ministry of Labour had a booth that displayed statistics on the number, occupations, and incomes of Thai workers working in various countries around the world. The Thailand Mega Fair 2023 trade show is held between December 13 and 16, 2023, from 16.00 to 23.00 hours. The Thai Chamber of Commerce is the largest exhibition of innovative Thai products and services in Saudi Arabia, which has the highest purchasing power in the Middle East region. The event was hosted under the concept of “Discover Thailand: The Perfect Destination for Empowering Your Business Growth.” The exhibition had over 200 product and service exhibitors from 7 main business sectors, including the construction sector, food and beverages, tourism and hospitality, lifestyle, health services, energy and robotics, and agriculture. There are over 100 brands from Thailand participating.
The Labour Office in Saudi Arabia had a booth to provide information about employment in Saudi Arabia. There is a demand for hiring female cleaning staff, nurses and nursing assistants, caregivers for the sick and elderly, and skilled craftsmen. Saudi Arabia currently has several large projects under construction, including projects to build new tourist attractions, parks, amusement parks, department stores, and accommodations. There is a need for many skilled workers. In addition, there are business groups from Thailand that will invest in trade and propose development projects as well. The fields that have opportunities include engineers, architects, electricians, welders, and various types of repair technicians.
