วันที่ 5 ตุลาคม 2566 นายพิพัฒน์ รัชกิจประการ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน ให้การต้อนรับ ดร.ศรุต วานิชพันธุ์ ผู้อำนวยการอาวุโส Sea (ประเทศไทย) คุณดนุภณ ศรีเมฆ Head of Government Affairs Garena (ประเทศไทย) และคณะ ในโอกาสเข้าพบรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงานเพื่อเยี่ยมคารวะและปรึกษาหารือถึงความร่วมมือในการพัฒนาผลักดันทักษะด้านดิจิทัลให้กับบุคลากรรุ่นใหม่ โดยมี นายธนัสถ์ ทวีเกื้อกูลกิจ ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน นายอารี ไกรนรา เลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงแรงงาน นายภุชงค์ วรศรี ประจำสำนักเลขาธิการนายกรัฐมนตรี ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ประจำกระทรวงแรงงาน นาย พร้อมด้วย นายนิธิภัทร ศรีธัญญา ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันพัฒนาบุคลากรดิจิทัล กรมพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงาน ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ ณ ห้องจัตุมงคล ชั้น 6 อาคารกระทรวงแรงงาน
นายพิพัฒน์ กล่าวว่า จากการหารือร่วมกับผู้บริหารบริษัท Sea ถึงความร่วมมือในการพัฒนาผลักดันทักษะด้านดิจิทัลให้กับบุคลากรรุ่นใหม่ในวันนี้ ซึ่งในเรื่องนี้ท่านเศรษฐา ทีสิน นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้ให้ความสำคัญกับการ Up Skill กำลังแรงงานให้สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของผู้ประกอบการในภาคธุรกิจท่องเที่ยวและบริการ และในส่วนของกระทรวงแรงงาน ผมได้ให้กรมพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงานไปเทรนน้องๆ นักเรียน นักศึกษาที่จบการศึกษาแล้วต้องการ Up Skill/Re Skill เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมก่อนเข้าสู่อาชีพและให้ได้ค่าจ้างที่สูงขึ้น เพราะขณะนี้ภาคการท่องเที่ยวมีความต้องการแรงงานอีกมาก จึงเป็นโอกาสดีในการหารือในวันนี้ เพื่อจะให้มีแนวทางทำงานร่วมกันของทั้งสองฝ่าย ให้สามารถเชื่อมโยงข้อมูลไปสู่เป้าหมายในการผลิตกำลังคนดิจิทัลโดยเฉพาะคนรุ่นใหม่ไปสู่ตลาดแรงงานต่อไป

On October 5, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, welcomed the Senior Director of Sea (Thailand), Dr. Sarut Vanichpun, the Head of Government Affairs of Garena (Thailand), Ms. Danupon Srimek, and team, on the occasion of meeting with the Labour Minister on a courtesy call and to discuss cooperation in developing and promoting digital skills for the new generation of personnel. The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, and the Director of the Digital Personnel Development Institute from the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Nithipat Srithanya, joined in giving a welcome at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
Mr. Phiphat said that the meeting with the Sea executives discussed cooperation in developing and promoting digital skills for today’s new generation of personnel. In this matter, Prime Minister Mr. Srettha Thavisin has given importance to upskilling the workforce in line with businesses’ needs in the tourism and service sector. On the Ministry of Labour’s part, he has assigned the Department of Skill Development to train young students who have graduated and want to upskill/reskill to prepare them for various professions and earn higher wages. The tourism sector is in demand for workers. Therefore, today was a good opportunity for discussion to look for ways to work together and to link data to the goal of producing a digital workforce, especially the new generation, to enter the labour market.
The Senior Director of Sea (Thailand), Dr. Sarut Vanichpun, said that Sea Limited is a world-leading company providing internet platform services for consumers. The main business operators are Garena, Shopee, and Sea Money. The company has Sea Academy, a unit that develops digital skills in 3 areas: games and e-sports, e-commerce, and digital finance. He thanked the Labour Minister for today’s discussion and is pleased to support cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, especially for the new generation of workers who are interested in careers related to gaming, esports, financial management, and online markets. After today’s discussion, there will be further cooperation in developing digital skills for workers to meet labour needs.
