วันที่ 12 เมษายน 2566 นายบุญชอบ สุทธมนัสวงษ์ ปลัดกระทรวงแรงงาน เปิดเผยว่า เนื่องในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ประจำปี 2566 มีวันหยุดติดต่อกันหลายวัน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 13 -17 เมษายนนั้น ประชาชนจะเดินทางกลับภูมิลำเนาและท่องเที่ยวเป็นจำนวนมาก ประกอบกับทุกพื้นที่ทั่วประเทศมีการจัดงานเฉลิมฉลอง งานประเพณีงานทำบุญ และงานรื่นเริงต่างๆ ทำให้มีปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดอุบัติเหตุหรือภัยต่าง ๆ ได้ ซึ่งในเรื่องนี้ รัฐบาลมีความห่วงใยเรื่องความปลอดภัยในการเดินทางของพี่น้องประชาชน จึงได้ให้แต่ละหน่วยงานบูรณาการความร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อรณรงค์ป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางท้องถนนในช่วงดังกล่าว
นายบุญชอบ กล่าวต่อว่า ในส่วนของกระทรวงแรงงาน ผมได้สั่งการให้แรงงานจังหวัดเป็นศูนย์กลางในการประสานงานกับหน่วยงานในสังกัดกระทรวงแรงงานแต่ละจังหวัดร่วมให้บริการและช่วยเหลือพี่น้องประชาชนตามนโยบายแต่ละจังหวัด เช่น การให้บริการศูนย์อำนวยการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2566 เป็นต้น รวมทั้งติดตามและเฝ้าระวังสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินหรืออุบัติภัยต่างๆ หากมีผู้ได้รับผลกระทบเกี่ยวข้องกับภารกิจของกระทรวงแรงงาน ให้ลงพื้นที่ให้ความช่วยเหลืออย่างเร่งด่วนและรายงานเหตุการณ์ให้ทราบในทันที
นายบุญชอบ กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า ในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ปี 2566 นี้ กระทรวงแรงงาน ยังได้ให้หน่วยงานในสังกัดกระทรวงแรงงานอำนวยความสะดวกและแจ้งข้อมูลข่าวสารแก่ประชาชน อาทิ สำนักงานประกันสังคมทุกแห่งทั่วประเทศอำนวยความสะดวกและเน้นย้ำให้ผู้ประกันตนพกบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนติดตัวไว้ หากเกิดเจ็บป่วยฉุกเฉินหรือได้รับอุบัติเหตุ หรือมีอาการเจ็บป่วยกะทันหัน สามารถเข้ารับการรักษาตัวในโรงพยาบาลที่อยู่ใกล้ที่สุดได้ทันที กรมสวัสดิการและคุ้มครองแรงงาน ได้ออกประกาศขอความร่วมมือนายจ้าง/สถานประกอบกิจการให้ลูกจ้างหยุดงานในเทศกาลสงกรานต์ เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้พี่น้องผู้ใช้แรงงานได้เดินทางกลับบ้านไปเยี่ยมครอบครัวที่ภูมิลำเนาของตนเอง กรมพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงาน ให้สถาบันพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงานและสำนักงานพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงานจังหวัด ที่มีที่ตั้งติดกับถนนสายหลักจัดกิจกรรมให้บริการตรวจเช็คสภาพรถยนต์ รถจักรยานยนต์ ให้กับประชาชนก่อนออกเดินทางจนถึงวันที่ 12 เมษายน 2566 ฟรีไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย โดยใช้สถานที่ของสถาบันและสำนักงานพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงานในการตรวจเช็คสภาพรถ และสำหรับสถาบันพัฒนาฝีมือแรงงาน 5 นครราชสีมา จะให้บริการตรวจเช็คสภาพรถยนต์ รถจักรยานยนต์ เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกประชาชนที่เดินทางในช่วงสงกรานต์ไปจนถึงวันที่ 17 เมษายนนี้ด้วย เนื่องจากเป็นถนนสายหลักที่มีประชาชนเดินทางเป็นจำนวนมาก

On April 12, 2023, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, said that during the Songkran Festival 2023, there were consecutive holidays from April 13 to 17. People would return to their hometowns and travel a lot. Additionally, all areas across the country would hold celebrations, traditional ceremonies, and various festivities, causing risks of potential accidents. In this regard, the government is concerned about the safety of the people’s travels. Therefore, each unit has been asked to work with relevant agencies to campaign to prevent and reduce road accidents during this period.
Mr. Boonchob continued that on the Ministry of Labour’s part, he instructed Provincial Labour Offices to be a center for coordinating with agencies under the Ministry of Labour in each province to jointly provide services and help people according to the policies of each province. For example, providing services for the Center for Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents during the Songkran Festival 2023 and monitoring emergencies or accidents. If there are affected people involved in the mission of the Ministry of Labour, for relevant officials to visit the area and report the incident immediately.
Mr. Boonchob continued that during the Songkran Festival this year, all agencies under the Ministry of Labour have been asked to facilitate and inform the public, such as all Social Security Offices nationwide, to emphasize that insured persons carry their identification cards with them. If there is an emergency, illness, or accident, or there is a sudden illness, they can be admitted to the nearest hospital immediately. The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare has issued an announcement requesting cooperation from employers/business establishments for employees to take a day off during the Songkran Festival to give them an opportunity for workers to return home to visit their families in their hometowns. The Department of Skill Development, the Institute for Skill Development, and Provincial Skill Development Offices located next to the main road has organized car and motorcycle inspection services for the public until April 12, 2023, free of charge. The Institutes and Skill Development Offices will inspect the vehicle condition on-site. The Nakhon Ratchasima Skill Development Institute 5 will provide car and motorcycle inspection services to facilitate people traveling during Songkran until April 17, as it is on the main road with many people traveling.
