The Labour Minister’s Advisor launched the labour volunteer network empowerment project in Mae Hong Son, to integrate with the Ministry of Labour’s mission to meet the labour needs of the community and people in the area.
On January 30, 2020, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet presided over the opening ceremony of the labour volunteer empowerment project, to Integrate the Ministry of Labour in 2020. He gave a special lecture on “labour volunteers, the mechanism to drive the Ministry of Labour’s mission,” at the Pai Kiengdao Resort, Pai, Mae Hong Son. He said that the labour volunteers and networks are essential to the Ministry of Labour’s mission, as it is an important mechanism to implement the Ministry of Labour’s policies and guidelines. The volunteers and networks publicize and inform the people of the labour situation, including liaison with workers in the area. They also report information or issues regarding the needs of workers to the departments under the Ministry of Labour, and use the information to find ways or measures to help people in the area/community, and to meet the labour needs of the people more efficiently.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak further said that in addition to labour volunteers and networks which have essential roles regarding labour, they also play a crucial role in resolving economic problems, local society/community issues, security, and public health issues, and other operations with both private and government organizations, to help people who suffer from various types of trouble. Their work requires sacrifice and dedication to achieving operations successfully. The project provides an opportunity to review roles and develop ways to link the integration of labour networks between volunteers and mentors, including the exchange of experiences. The project links the relationship between volunteers, workers, and mentors in the area, which will result in local communities receiving services and assistance. It will also reflect the needs of people in the area directly, causing the Ministry of Labour’s departments and other relevant agencies to consider the information to plan for assistance in the area/community.
