MOL, CPF, and Osotspa Join Forces to Deliver Food to Support Medical Personnel Vaccinating Campsite Workers and Taxi Drivers’ Families to Fight COVID-19

            The Labour Minister received ready-to-eat foods, chicken eggs, and beverages from CPF, CPI, and Osotspa to support medical personnel vaccinating campsite workers at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng. The donations were also to help families of the Thai Taxi Association to overcome the COVID-19 crisis together.             On August 10, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchat Chomklin received ready-to-eat foods, chicken eggs, and health beverages from Mr. Prasit Boonduangprasert, Chief Executive Officer and Ms. Phimonrat Repattanawichitkul, Chief Human Resources Executive from Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL or CPF, and Mr. Payut Sanguannam, Safety and Community Relations Manager, Osotspa PCL. The donation was made to support medical personnel and Social Security Office staff providing vaccination services for campsite workers in Bangkok at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng. CPF donated 1,800 packs of shrimp wonton noodles, and CPI donated 6,000 bottles of vitamin beverages. Consumables were also given to the Thai Taxi Association. COVID-19 Vaccination Centers for Campsite Workers Open at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng and Lumpini Tower on Vibhavadi Road from August 9 to 31

          On August 9, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, is concerned for the workforce and the general public amid the COVID-19 situation and has made COVID-19 vaccinations a national agenda. The Ministry of Labour has implemented a month-long lockdown of camp workers intending to vaccinate about 3,500 people daily from the 611 camps in Bangkok, comprising 83,082 workers, including 32,471 Thais and 50,611 foreigners.           Mr. Suchart said that today was the first day that the Ministry of Labour, together with hospitals in the social security network, the Ministry of Interior, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, opened the worker camp vaccination center at the West Sports Building 1, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Din Daeng District, Bangkok.           On August 9, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin met with the Chairman of the Bangkok Hawker Community, Ms. Yada Pornpetcharumpa, and members, who delivered a basket for encouragement ad thanks to Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha through the Labour Minister for assisting members of the Bangkok Hawker Community in making food boxes for worker camps in Bangkok. The effort follows the “sharing kindness from shop to workers” project. The occasion took place at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.           On August 8, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol to receive 56,440 eggs from Betagro and Sunfood, together with the Workplace Safety Network, the Labour Protection and Welfare Office of Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao, Pathum Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Samut Sakhon. The eggs were delivered to the Ministry of Labour to help those affected by COVID-19. Deputy Labour Minister Delivers Food Boxes to Din Daeng-Huay Kwang Communities to Alleviate COVID-19 Impacts

          The Deputy Labour Minister moved forward in distributing food boxes to the Din Daeng-Huay Kwang area to alleviate the suffering and encourage workers to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.           On August 8, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that she had assigned the team to deliver food boxes to help the people since July 22, 2021. Almost 20,000 food boxes have been distributed to date. The effort aims to help construction camp workers, medical personnel stationed at the main hospitals and field hospitals, volunteers supporting COVID-19 patients, and people in various communities that have been affected, especially for families who are unemployed and have no income. Receiving one food box for one family can reduce the burden of cooking expenses for one meal. It shows that the food boxes being delivered to the recipient’s hand can help and alleviate suffering. Deputy Labour Minister Continues to Deliver Food Boxes to Overcome COVID-19 Challenges

          On August 1, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that the increase in COVID-19 cases during this period has resulted in all sectors continuing to use their full potential to support the people. In the past, she received food boxes supported by businesses, department stores, shops, and the people, to deliver to various areas such as people in construction worker camps, medical personnel stationed in both the main hospitals and the field hospitals, and volunteers, including the affected communities.           Deputy Labour Minister assigned a team to deliver food boxes to volunteers to thank and encourage them to care for COVID-19 patients.           On July 31, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumol Pinyosinwat reported that due to the COVID-19 situation, the number of infected people has continued to increase, affecting many groups of people.
