         On August 19, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who supervises the Ministry of Labour, joined a meeting yesterday (August 18, 2021) to follow up on the Ministry of Labour’s performance over the past year. He said that General Prawit has concerns for those affected by COVID-19 and ordered the Ministry of Labour to expedite the distribution of vaccines to at-risk workers, especially in the dark red areas, to meet the goals set by the government, making COVID-19 vaccinations a national agenda and providing comprehensive care for workers in all dimensions. Labour Network for People Rights Relieves from Labour Minister’s Instruction to Issue Ministry Announcement Seeking Employer Cooperation in Allowing Pregnant Workers to Work From Home Reducing Risks of COVID-19

          On August 19, 2021, members of the Labour Network for People Rights and representatives of workers’ families affected by COVID-19, a network that brings together workers from many provinces and business sectors from Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani, met with Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, as a supervisor on policies regarding worker’s quality of life. The network was led by Ms. Sriprai Nonsi, representative of the labour unions in Rangsit and nearby areas, Ms. Thanaporn Wichan, Coordinator of the Labour Network for People Rights, Khun Jaded Chaowilai from the Women and Men Progressive Movement Foundation and included representatives from the network in Samut Prakan, Saraburi, Rangsit, and Pathum Thani, totaling ten people. Deputy Labour Minister Promotes Employment for People with Disabilities During COVID-19 In Line with SDGs

          The Deputy Labour Minister commenced a seminar to promote occupations for people with disabilities amid the COVID-19 situation under the concept of “create, elevate and give; uniting Thailand to build a nation,” in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.           On August 13, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat presided over the opening of the 2021 International Seminar on Employment Rights of Persons with Disabilities in a Crisis of COVID-19 Pandemic, organized by the Eden Social Welfare Foundation in collaboration with Workability Asia and the Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities.
