MOL Management of Foreign Workers Fund Committee Meets

            On October 28, 2019, at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Niyom Songkaew, to preside over the Management of Foreign Workers Fund Committee meeting. The meeting considered the request for the allocation of funds to manage foreign workers of relevant departments, for the 2020 fiscal year. Labour Minister Discusses Thailands Removal from the US GSP and Confirms Protection of All Workers to International Standards

          The Labour Minister spoke about the case of the US, which will remove Thailand from the GSP program. He confirmed that the Ministry of Labour and related units had worked together on labour protection issues to adhere to international standards all along. Efforts have included the elimination of the worst forms of child labour, which has seen success on many levels for two consecutive years now. It has resolved human trafficking issues by upgrading its status to Tier 2, improved labour protections in the fishing industry, and has been released from the yellow status for IUU fishing. The Ministry of Labour has further ratified Convention No. 29 and No. 188, as well as progressing to the ratification of Convention No. 87 and 98.   Download Images              On October 27, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Labour Minister Encourages Thai Workers Deployed Abroad to Save and Collect Experiences to Add Professional Value

        Secretariat to the Labour Minister gave a testimony to workers travelling to work in foreign countries, to work hard, be responsible, compliant with the laws and culture of each country and to not get involved with drugs, intoxication and gambling. Thai Ambassador to Tel Aviv and Labour Minister Discuss Issues of Thai Workers in Israel

            On October 16, 2019, at 11.45 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul welcomed Thai Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Israel, Ms. Pornnapa Chantararom, to discuss Thai labour issues in Israel. The discussion covered the delivery of workers, traveling to work, caring for workers in Israel, and the acknowledgment of the Ministry of Labour’s policies on labour. The Labour Minister expressed his want for Thai workers returning from Israel to apply the knowledge gained to the country’s agricultural work, and work in Thailand. Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences Friendly Football Match for Myanmar Nationals to Form Human Trafficking Surveillance Network

          The Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the opening match of the Western Union LPN Myanmar Cup 2019 to promote peaceful coexistence in Thai society at Mahachai Futsal Stadium, Mahachai, Samut Sakhon. The game was a campaign to encourage migrant workers to use their free time from work and turn their attention to sports and establish a network of surveillance, prevention, and suppression of human trafficking.   Download Images            On September 29, 2019, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the opening ceremony of the Western Union LPN Myanmar Cup 2019 football match. The initiative is to promote peaceful coexistence in Thai society, which took place at Mahachai Futsal Stadium, Mahachai, Muang, Samut Sakhon. Advisor to the Labour Minister Mr. Kankavee Tubsuwan and the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat joined the event. Director of the LPN foundation Mr. Somphong Sakaew and Western Union representative gave a welcoming speech and Vice President of the Foundation for the Labour Promotion Network Mr. Suraphong Kongchantuek also gave a speech. ‘Gen. Adul’ joins the auspicious ceremony Dedicated to the reign of King Rama 8 and 9.

          His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun assigned General Surayud Chulanont, the Privy Councilor, as a representative. The ceremony was dedicated to the reign of King Rama 8 and King Rama 9, blessing to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in the reign of King Rama 9, and pray for 12 children and 1 coach in the cave Khun Nam Nang Non, Chiang Rai, to return to safety of all danger today (Jun 29, 2018) at 18.00, His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch is the president of the ministry. In addition, General Prayut Chan-ocha, the Prime Minister and his wife, the Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor, The management team of the Ministry of Labor, and people attended the ceremony. Legal Advisor Commences Dialogue on Managing Forced Labour Following The Royal Decree and Amendments on Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act

         On September 19, 2019, the Ministry of Labour’s Legal Advisor Mr. Sompob Prabnarong, gave an opening dialogue for the management of forced labour problems according to the Emergency Decree on the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking 2008 at Plaza Athenee Hotel, Royal Meridien, Bangkok. The project aims to integrate cooperation with all sectors to prevent human trafficking for continuous development, including determining measures to promote and protect the rights of workers of all nationalities equally according to international standards. Its objective is to organize and enhance the efficiency of the management of foreign workers in the system, establish measures to inspect business establishments through strict labour inspection processes, as well as ratify the 2014 Protocol, in addition to the 29th International Labour Organization Convention on Forced Labour 1930, on June 4, 2018. Labour Minister Reveals Ministerial Meeting’s Approval on Plan to Drive and Maintain Social Security Rights for Migrant Workers in CLMTV Countries

        The Labour Minister and committee attended the 3rd CLMTV Ministerial Meeting in Cambodia. He revealed that the meeting agreed on the principles of the plan to drive and maintain social security rights for migrant workers in the CLMTV countries and to form Ministerial Declaration Working Group which will be certified at the next meeting in Laos.   Download Images         On September 17, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Gives Special Lecture on Challenges of Working in an Aging Society

            On September 12, 2019, at 09.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Pol. Maj. Romayong Surakitbanharn gave a special lecture on the challenges of working with an aging society. The lecture was delivered at an academic seminar on the 2nd anniversary of the Institute for Continuing Education and Human Resources, on the topic of “Human Resource Development in the Thai Elderly Society”. Director of the Institute for Continuing Education and Human Resources Assistant Professor Supachai Srisuchart welcomes participants. This event was organized by the Institute for Continuing Education and Human Resources to build knowledge and understanding about the aging society in Thailand, to prepare for human resource development in the Thai elderly society and know the direction of the job market, including guidelines for self-development for the elderly. Ministry of Labor inspects training of Nakhon Sawan Provincial Police Force.

          On June 11, 2018, at 13.30, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor visited the training of police officers in Nakhon Sawan Province and the training of low income registered state benefits. Including visiting informal labor training and the unemployed who suffered from a career, the 150-hour Thai massage course is led by Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor along with Senior Executive, Ministry of Labor participated in this at the Skill Development Institute Region 8, Nakhon Sawan.  For Nakhon Sawan Province, there are groups of state welfare beneficiaries who have been selected for vocational training with the Ministry of Labor. The target is 7,400 people, including 1,120 vocational trainers (community technicians), 6,280 freelance / occupational trainers. ++++++++++++++++++++++++
