Labour Minister Assigns Spokesperson to Deliver Relief Bags to Support Flood Victims and Encourage Labour Volunteers in Nakhon Pathom

          On October 28, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, to visit the area to provide relief bags and drinking water to people affected by the flood. The first stop was at the Community Hall, Moo 4, Lam Phaya Subdistrict, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province, where they delivered 200 relief bags and 3,000 drinking water bottles. The second point was at Wat Tai Yawat, Tai Yawat Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, where they delivered 230 relief bags and 3,000 drinking water bottles. Deputy PM Shows Concern for Persons with Disabilities and Instructs MOL to Work with Private Sector on Employment Nationwide

          On October 26, 2021, at 10.00 hours, Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan presided over the witnessing of the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding on the Employment Project for People with Social Disabilities between the Department of Employment and seven leading enterprises. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. Labour Minister Affirms Legal Support for Employees of Brilliant That Gathered at Government Houses

          On October 19, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin received claims and discussed with eight employee representatives from Brilliant Alliance Thai Global Co., Ltd., and representatives of the Triumph International Labour Union of Thailand, a women’s undergarment manufacturer in Samut Prakan. The employees were terminated due to business closure, where they did not receive any compensation. The employees gathered in front of the Government House to submit two requests: to amend the Employee Welfare Fund regulations and follow up the progress of litigation against the employer. Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister Dr. Seksakon Atthawong and Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitayawong also joined the occasion at Meeting Room 1, old OCSC building. Following the issue, the Labour Minister assigned the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to utilize the Employee Welfare Fund funds for 22,321,856 Baht to pay welfare for the 1,231 employees. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor and Spokesperson to Deliver Relief Bags to Workers and Flood Victims in Suphan Buri

          On October 14, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, to visit the area to support and give relief bags to the representatives of labour volunteers, insured persons, people with disabilities and villagers affected by floods in Suphan Buri Province. The donations totaled 230 sets and 6,000 bottles of drinking water. They also visited public service units provided by agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Suphan Buri. For example, services included home appliances repair services for flood victims by the Suphan Buri Skill Development Institute 2 and applications for Section 40 insured persons by the Suphan Buri Provincial Social Security Office. DLPW Director-General Affirms Full Support to Brilliant Employees on Compensation and Prosecution of Employers

                On October 7, 2021, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General, Mr. Niyom Songkaew, spoke about Brilliant Alliance Thai Global Co., Ltd. employees and representatives of the Triumph International Labour Union of Thailand, a women’s undergarment manufacturer in Samut Prakan province. They were terminated due to business closure and were not compensated. The workers gathered at the Government Houses to demand that the government use the central budget to pay compensation to the laid-off workers and filed a letter requesting a review of the employee benefits payment through Suthep U-On, Chairman of the Labour Commissioner, House of Representatives, to present to the Prime Minister. In this matter, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin instructed the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to pay compensation from Employee Welfare Fund from April 28 to August 11, 2021, to 1,231 employees, totaling 22,321,856 Baht. The storm has resulted in flash floods causing suffering among many people.
