MOL Commences Training for 20th Class of Mid-Level Labour Managers

          On December 4, 2020, at 11.00 hours, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Niyom Songkaew presided over the opening ceremony of the training course for the Ministry of Labour’s 20th class of mid-level labour managers and awarded certificates to the trainees at Pung-Waan Hotel Resort and Spa, Muang, Kanchanaburi. He said that the mid-level labour management course is of great importance, where the curriculum has been continuously organized every year, until the 20th class today. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Khon Kaen for the Big Labour Meeting and Co-Payment Project for “Graduate Employment” to Fill over 3,000 Vacancies

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to Khon Kaen, to commence a big labour meeting event and meet with Co-Payment “hiring new graduates” with 3,295 positions available.           On November 27, 2020, the Labour Minister assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to preside over the opening ceremony of the big labour meeting event bi and meet with Co-Payment “hiring new graduates.” Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat also joined the event. Labour Minister Commences Social Security Symposium 2020

          The Labour Minister commenced a forum for the Social Security Symposium 2020 to exchange ideas on “Moving Toward a New Normal: Driving Towards a New Way of Life,” helping companies and workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.           On November 27, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the opening ceremony of the 15th Annual Social Security Symposium in 2020 under the theme of “Moving Toward a New Normal: Driving Towards a New Way of Life.” The event presented a plaque for excellent services from surveying service recipients’ satisfaction with the Social Security Office in 2020. MOL Joins “Thai Treasures” Event

          On November 27, 2020, at 17.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Aumpun Thuvavit to join the “Thai Treasures” event at Siam Paragon Shopping Center. The event was in honour of HM Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, to carry on the royal wishes in the conservation of the wisdom of silk weaving from generation to generation and promote the extension of Thai fabrics to be known both at the national and international levels. MOL Joins Meeting of Strategic Committee on Development of the Southern Border Provinces No. 2/2020

          On November 27, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomlin chaired the Meeting of the Strategic Committee on Development of the Southern Border Provinces No. 2/2020, in collaboration with the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center. The meeting took place at Meeting Room 301, Command Building 1, Government Houses. The meeting reported on the progress of urban planning adjustments to support the drive of a model city as the “stable, prosperous and sustainable triangle” in the area of Chana District, Songkhla. It also reported on the progress of the implementation of the 1,700 MW electricity quota allocation as the starting point for the development of the Cabinet’s resolution on May 7, 2019, and the progress on the implementation of investment promotion measures in the special economic development areas, a model city for future progressive industries in Chana District, Songkhla, following the private sector investment plan according to the Cabinet’s resolution on January 21, 2020. Deputy Labour Minister Visits Phrae to Drive Community Enterprises and Promote Tourism

          The Deputy Labour Minister visited Phrae to meet with community enterprises, driving all labour groups in building Thailand together to support tourism to generate sustainable income.           On November 27, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Advisor to Deputy Minister of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti, and the working group visited Phrae to listen to the performance that drives Thailand together. They visited the Mo Hom Thung Charoen Community Enterprise in natural dyeing and encouraged the disabled persons’ occupational group. MOL Meets on Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s Human Resource Management Action Plan for 2021

        On November 27, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Aumpun Thuvavit chaired the meeting of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s Human Resources Management Action Plan for 2021. The objective of the meeting was to jointly consider and comment on the (draft) action plan. This is one of the processes of establishing strategic human resource management and development system. The meeting reviewed human resource projects and activities and performance indicators or KPIs and target values, to be used as a framework for operational guidelines in 2021. There will be another meeting to follow up, monitor, and evaluate the respective performance metrics. MOL Launches Workshop Promoting Creating Mindsets for Government Innovation in Labour

            On November 23, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the opening of the creative mindset for government innovation in labour workshop, which took place at the meeting room on the 7th floor, Bangkok Social Security Office Area 3. The training was designed to promote a creative mindset and design thinking among government officials participating in the project. The training included innovative design for organizational management and services to meet the needs of service recipients and stakeholders of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour, through a participatory management mechanism of all relevant sectors. Labour Minister Instructs Special Task Force to Suppress Agents Deceiving Jobseekers Going to Work Abroad

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin instructed the Department of Employment to set up a special task force to suppress agents deceiving job seekers going to work abroad, from concerns after finding employment advertising through social media persuading people to work abroad. Victims who fall into the trap have to pay 10,000 – 20,000 Baht per person. To date, no one has traveled to work abroad from the advertisements.           On November 17, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that the government, under Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, has focused on sending Thai workers to work abroad, as Thai workers are skilled, have patience, and are diligent. Today, Thai workers have become highly demanded in foreign countries. In addition, each year, Thai workers return over 140,000 million Baht in income to the country. Labour Minister Sends Off 206 Thai Agricultural Workers to Work in Israel

          On November 12, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin sent 206 Thai workers to Suvarnabhumi Airport and gave them words of encouragement before traveling to work in the agricultural sector in Israel under the Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers (TIC), generating an income of 48,073 Baht per person.           Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour had implemented the policy of Prime Minister in promoting Thai workers to work abroad. It focuses on the benefits and taking into account the safety of Thai workers. There is a transparent selection process from recruitment, interviews, contracting, and inspections from relevant departments, making it possible to bring income into the country continuously. Deployment of Thai workers to work in Israel started in June 2012. Each year, Thailand receives a quota of 5,000 people a year.
